The sweeping view of the Columbia Gorge from the porch of one of the guest cabins, even swathed in a thin sheen of wildfire smoke, is one of the most beautiful landscapes one could ever hope to see. On this ranch, though, the views continue as they wrap around, transforming into rugged mountain ridges as Wind Mountain stands sentry over the vast landscape. It’s nothing short of spectacular, even without the sentimental attachment we carry.

Between the gaze of the afternoon’s golden sunlight and the bright faces of blooming sunflowers, we came together to toast new adventures and exciting experiences, to the simple joy of spending time together, and the beauty of life’s most technicolor moments.

As the shadows of the trees darkened, we even got an appearance from one of the family donkeys, who walked the table in a birthday hat before dessert (we’re still unsure whose birthday the donkey was celebrating!). Finally, the meal ended with a standing ovation from guests as Chef Sarah emerged from the outdoor kitchen to thank the crowd.

As guests arrived, everyone was immediately drawn to the raw bar filled with waiting oysters topped with crème fraîche and caviar, backed by lobster boats unloading the day’s catch right onto the docks. There were Patrón cocktails to cool down as guests mingled in the sunshine, taking in the seaside views before sitting down to Supper.

Our nearly five-month adventure creating inspiring dining experiences in partnership with Patrón Tequila started back in early July. Full of anticipation, our team visited Hacienda Patrón – Patrón’s distillery in Jalisco – to learn about the tequila making process.

Is it time to go back to New Orleans yet? Yes, our Supper in the Big Easy was that special! Well into the Fall, we made it to Louisiana quite excited to experience the unparalleled hospitality of the South, and that we did.

Amidst live guitar, chatter, and laughter the evening came to a close. Although this Supper definitely came with some logistical challenges, the perfect views from Tularcitos Ridge and the feeling of seclusion were definitely worth it. We loved every moment of our return to California; we will never tire of reveling in its bounty and admiring its beauty!

Santa Fe was the fourth stop on the Secret Supper-Roca Patrón Series, and it was beyond memorable! Halfway through the series, we set foot on one of the most magical landscapes we could have ever imagined. A stark contrast from our neck of the woods and the perfect backdrop to a fantastic evening.

In early October we brought our table to a wild, golden field at West Bijou ranch, just outside of Denver. Taking our guests to the Savory Institute’s holistically-managed ranch and learning site was an amazing experience, and an incredible way to celebrate our partnership with them as the non-profit benefitted through the Secret Supper-Roca Patrón Series. 

The Motor City welcomed us with open arms, and we had the most incredible time creating a unique experience for fifty guests who joined us from near and far. An experience that celebrated community and craftsmanship at Woods Cathedral, a building that after seeing some rough times, was filled with joy and laughter through the memories shared at the table.
