COLUMBUS, OHIO  | AUGUST 2025

A‍s July’s summer beauty bled into the golden days of August, we brought our Supper series to the riotous beauty of a Midwest flower farm in full bloom. For our first-ever visit to Ohio, we wandered into the fields of Alton Farmstead, where a big, red, 175 year old barn overlooked overflowing flower beds and rolling fields scattered with hay bales.

We dressed the table in block-printed linens from Pomegranate in neutral shades to offset the vibrant colors scattered across its top. The jewel tones of mixed glassware, brightly blooming flower arrangements, and the flower-dusted dishes from Chef Carrie Young turned the table into a rainbow of our collective making. Each course of Chef Carrie’s seasonal Tex-Mex cuisine was thoughtfully paired with a Patrón cocktail crafted for the experience by John Maher from Cobra.

Between the gaze of the afternoon’s golden sunlight and the bright faces of blooming sunflowers, we came together to toast new adventures and exciting experiences, to the simple joy of spending time together, and the beauty of life’s most technicolor moments.

WELCOME

We started the sunny Supper with a Welcome Social in and around the historic barn, where we served two refreshing cocktails designed to prime our palates for the meal to come: Cucumber Agua Fresca made with Patrón Silver, cucumber, lime, agave, soda; and the Siesta, a mix of Patrón Reposado, lime, grapefruit, and bitter liqueur.

A MENU BY CARRIE YOUNG

Carrie Young considers herself a “chef for hire”, cooking delicious, seasonally-focused food for pop-ups and catered events. She crafted a playful Tex-Mex inspired meal perfectly suited to the height of summer for us to enjoy in the fields. The plates’ bright colors, covered in edible flowers, were perfectly suited to our setting on a flower farm.

Each drink was refreshingly familiar (like the classic Margarita to start), but served with a twist (like the Old Fashioned made with Añejo), and perfectly paired with the cuisine (like the blueberry lavender margarita served with dessert).

NIGHTCAP

As the sunlight began to shine through the facets of the glassware gathered along the table, we finished the meal with flowers and berries — both in dessert and the final cocktail. Together, they were the perfect end to a colorful meal in the flower fields, celebrating the riotous beauty of summertime with floaty, delicate flavors and colorful, flower-strewn plates.
