PRINCETON, TEXAS | OCTOBER 2025

‍Somewhere out in the middle of the North Texas countryside, we gathered outside a big white barn just minutes from Lake Lavon. The rustic surroundings offset the modern lines of The Cinnamon Barn, the beautiful venue for our gathering. We were warmly welcomed into the barn, and then set free on the property to set up our Supper wherever we most desired. Unfortunately, some excitable fire ants changed our plans mid-morning, sending us away from the tree line and onto main ceremony lawn for Supper. By the end of the night, we were thanking those fire ants for correcting us! Our fountain-side table offered a perfect view of a fiery fall sunset — something worth moving the table many times over.

True Texas chef Mollie Guerra served a menu of delicious Tex-Mex cuisine designed to showcase seasonal ingredients. Each plate subtly nodded to the fall colors just starting to sneak into the surrounding foliage, from golden delicata squash over bright pink beet puree, to deep purple radicchio and emerald greens, to the smokey char of marshmallow topping on dessert. Every course was paired with wines from our guest winemakers, Russian River Valley Winegrowers.

Each winery sent someone from their team to share the story behind every bottle served, offering guests an up-close look at these beautiful wines and unprecedented access to the people who make them. It was wonderful to get to know them a bit more, and experience the depth of flavor and story of each wine, alongside exceptional food, each bringing out the best of the other.

WELCOME

After their journey down a long country road to get to the Cinnamon Barn, guests were greeted at check-in with an empty wine glass and sent around the corner to meet our guest winemakers from Russian River Valley Winegrowers. In addition to their curated pairings for the seated Supper, each of the four guest wineries sent a few bottles of their favorite selections to share. Everyone had a chance to try a few wines and get to know the people behind their making. Meanwhile, Chef Mollie sent around perfect mini sopes and arepitas to prime everyone’s appetite for the meal to come.

A MENU BY MOLLIE GUERRA

Chef Mollie Guerra usually cooks in the fast lane. She caters for motorsports teams and race car drivers — in fact, she had just driven back from a race the night before our event. It was our pleasure to invite her to slow down in the Texas countryside and delight us with a meal full of fresh and unexpected seasonal flavors, all with a Texas spin.

WINE PAIRINGS

We relish the opportunity not only to pair exceptional wines with our Supper cuisine, but to enjoy them alongside their makers. Four world-class wineries from the Russian River Valley brought their favorite selections from California to Dallas to delight our guests.

As each course was served alongside its curated pairing, the winemaker or winery representative (including a wine librarian!) in attendance had the chance to share a bit of that wine’s story with everyone at the table.

SECRET LOCATION: CINNAMON BARN

North of Dallas, the Texas countryside stretches wide in every direction. From the rolling lawns and big white barn at Cinnamon Barn, we were treated to sweeping views all around, and a big Texas sky perfect for savoring the sunset. Not only were the surroundings lovely, owners Prianna and Kohshean were incredible hosts from the moment we arrived through to the end of the night, when they helped carry chairs from the lawn to inside the barn. It’s always a joy to see people take pride in their spaces, and the love these two put into the Barn shows in all of its beautiful details.
