Favorite Summer Wines
Summer is officially here and we don’t know about you, but we’ve been thinking of alfresco dinners for months (even more so because of COVID!). We’ve been dreaming up idyllic menus and settings, picnics and ingredients and—yes, you guessed it— wine!
We gathered four of our go-to wines for this summer and hope that you get a chance to try these at your next summer soirée. Have any season favorites? Share them with us! We’re always up for tying new wines!
SUZOR | The Sunflower Chardonnay 2018
Our friends at Suzor did it again with this glorious expression of Chardonnay. The wine is bright and clean and perfect for summer bbq’s with chicken, fish and all of the burrata filled appetizers. The wine was aged for 11 months on the lees with 25% new oak to let the grape still shine for a perfectly balanced mouthfeel and sip. Suzor only made 4 barrels of this beauty so make sure you go snag a bottle or 3 quickly!
DRY FARM WINES | 1701 Sparkling Franciacorta
Every summer dinner party needs a bubble. And this sparkling is so much fun—it has to be on your list! It is 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Nero from the Franciacorta region of Italy. Dry Farm Wines specializes in selecting wines that meet their rigorous standards for growing, wine making and taste! All of their wines are clean, lower alcohol and sulfites, and use only natural yeasts. This sparkling is delicious and you can feel good about drinking it!
ROWEN | Sonoma County Red Blend 2017
We are in love with this Red Blend from Rowen. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah and Viognier, its the perfect wine to pair with all of your summer grilling. Think about this with that perfectly cooked steak we all dream about on summer evenings. Plus, you will just want to stare at the bottle all night, the label artwork by Robert Roth is stunning!
AESOP WINES | ROSÉ 2020
Summer in a bottle to us! The stunning color makes this 2020 Rosé from Aesop Wines the perfect go to wine to bring to all of your summer pool or lake parties. On the palette its super playful with aromas and flavors of guava, watermelon, cherry blossoms, key lime and wet stone. It’s got bright acidity with a touch of the tannin from the whole cluster pressed Sangiovese. Bring out this bottle with your apero hour - especially with that caprese or melon salad!
