On a sultry afternoon just days before the summer solstice, the Frey Family opened their private Château in Champagne to us to host a beautiful Supper in their backyard. The storied rooms of Château de Mareuil have hosted Queens of England and Czars of Russia throughout history. We were delighted to work with Hautes-Côtes to set an intimate table amongst the trees to join in good company.

This year, we decided to try something new, yet again, and dedicate the final night of Culinary Pursuit to a Supper experience — our first outside of North America. We started the afternoon in the vineyards of Burgundy drinking Champagne from Billecart-Salmon before sitting down to a wonderful meal from Chef Maciej Runkowski that perfectly bridged summer and fall. Each course was paired with exclusive selections from Maison Joseph Drouhin, a celebration of the area’s storied terroir.

On the topic of summertime... it's no secret we love picnics, wine and cheese boards this time of year. A few weeks into the summer, we packed our baskets on a blazing hot Portland day and headed to the coast!
