Culinary Pursuit Booking Conditions

Eligibility

All travelers must be at least 19 years of age to attend and be vaccinated against COVID-19 according to the destination country’s regulations.

Dietary Restrictions

Travelers should expect meals to consist of menu items containing meat, dairy and gluten. Vegetarian menus will be offered, however, due to the nature of this experience, Secret Supper cannot accommodate vegan or gluten-free dietary restrictions.

Payment Schedule & Deadlines

A non-refundable 50% reservation fee is due upon purchase in order to secure your spot on the tour. The remaining 50% balance payment is due six months prior to the tour start date. If final payment is not received within 2 weeks of the payment deadline, your reservation will be cancelled and your spot on the tour will be re-sold to another customer.

Cancellations and Modifications Made by Travelers

Secret Supper incurs substantial non-recoverable costs and expenses in planning, preparing, and pre-paying amounts for tours and accommodations from the time of client enrollment. As a result, the initial reservation fee and final payment are non-refundable.

Reservation Transfers

Travelers are eligible to transfer your tickets to friends or family prior to one month before travel date. Travelers are required to contact Secret Supper with any transfer requests.

Cancellations or Modifications Due to Low Tour Enrollment

Up to the Tour Payment Date, Secret Supper reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the tour if an insufficient number of travelers are enrolled. If this occurs, travelers will receive a full refund of any payments made. Travelers are responsible for all costs associated with independent travel arrangements made outside of the tour.

Travel Protection Plans

Secret Supper is not a travel insurer and is not responsible for coverage determinations or the payment of any covered claims. Secret Supper is not qualified or authorized to answer technical questions about the benefits, exclusions, or conditions of any of the insurance coverages in the plan or to evaluate the adequacy of your existing insurance coverage.

Secret Supper shall not be liable to any traveler for the need to cancel, modify, or postpone the tour as a result of events that are beyond Secret Supper’s reasonable control. These matters include such “acts of God” or force majeure events as actual or threats of: epidemics or pandemics, or other public health issues or emergencies (such as but not limited to the current COVID-19 pandemic); severe weather events or natural disasters such as but not limited to hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, fires, floods, volcanic activity, or landslides; war (whether declared or undeclared); terrorist activities; instability in a destination location; incidents of violence, riot, sabotage, civil commotion, or nationalization; strikes or labor disputes or lockouts; government orders, sanctions, actual or potential quarantines, may affect the health, safety, or tour experience of other travelers.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to offensive language based upon age, race, ethnicity, color, religion, caste, national origin, ancestry, military status, marital status, physical or mental disability, gender, sexual orientation and native language. Intimidation, telephone and/or verbal harassment, physical and emotional threats, stalking, and physical actions are considered actions of violence. Travelers who participate in harassment or violence may be subject to dismissal from tour at any time and at their sole expense.

Pets & Service Animals

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals.

Items prohibited from tour

For the safety and well-being of all travelers, no illegal drugs, firearms or other weapons are permitted on tour.

Passports, visas & other travel documents and entry requirements

Travelers are solely responsible for obtaining a valid passport, visas, or other travel documents and verifying and satisfying any entry requirements necessary for the country of travel on your selected tour itinerary, including any required medical documents, testing, or proof of vaccinations (including any need to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination), as Secret Supper is not responsible for providing this information or documentation. Entry laws differ with respect to a traveler’s citizenship. Travelers are responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of delays or itinerary changes related to your lack of appropriate travel documents or failure to meet any required entry requirements, and are therefore ineligible for any refund from Secret Supper.

Other terms & provisions

The terms and provisions of these Booking Conditions supersede any other warranties, representations, terms, or conditions, unless they are expressly stated within a Booking Conditions Addendum or in a letter signed by Secret Supper. Secret Supper makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of its publications, but it cannot be held responsible for typographical or printing errors, including, but not limited to, prices and travel credits. Secret Supper tours are not for resale, and travelers must enroll directly with Secret Supper in order to attend.

Personal Data

Secret Supper will process your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection legislation for the purposes of completing your enrollment, customer service, and providing you with the products and services related to your tour. This may entail sharing your personal data with tour affiliates, claims handlers, insurance providers, and other business partners both within and outside the U.S., including to and within Italy. Secret Supper has put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers of your personal data.

Secret Supper will only keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it has been collected or in accordance with time limits stipulated by law and good market practice, unless further retention is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Secret Supper may also use your personal data, to market products and services based on your interests, including by email. Secret Supper will keep your personal data for marketing purposes until you withdraw your consent. Travelers may contact Secret Supper at any time to unsubscribe from any direct marketing purposes.

Release of 3rd Party Liability

Secret Supper does not own or operate any entity which is to or does provide goods or services for the tour, including for example hotels; arrangements for, ownership of, or control over houses, apartments, or other lodging facilities; tour directors; airline, vessel, bus, or other transportation companies; local ground operators; visa processing services; providers or organizers of optional excursions; or food service or entertainment providers. Travelers acknowledge that all such persons and entities are independent contractors and not employees or agents of Secret Supper. As a result, Secret Supper is not liable for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any such person or entity, or of any other third party.

Injury, Loss or Damage

Without limitation, Secret Supper is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, disease, sickness, delay or inconvenience in connection with the provision of any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from any event or cause beyond the direct control of Secret Supper or as a result of any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any third party. These matters include but are not limited to: “acts of God” or events of force majeure; epidemics, pandemics, or other public health issues or emergencies (such as but not limited to the current COVID-19 pandemic); acts of government; acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt; strikes or other labor activities; criminal, terrorist or threatened terrorist activities of any kind; overbooking or downgrading of accommodations; structural or other defective conditions in houses, apartments, or other lodgings (or in any heating, plumbing, electrical or structural problem therein); mechanical or other failure of airplanes or other means of transportation or for any failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart timely or safely; dangers associated with or bites from animals, insects or pests; sanitation problems; food poisoning; lack of availability of, access to, or quality of medical care; difficulty in evacuation in case of a medical or other emergency; financial failure or other defaults by suppliers; or dangers associated with water-based activities.

Release of Liability

Travelers agree to release Secret Supper and their tour affiliates from, and agree not to sue the Released Parties for, any and all claims, of any nature related in any manner to their participation in a Secret Supper-sponsored tour, including, but not limited to, claims for negligence, breach of contract, breach of express or implied warranties, negligent or wrongful death or any statutorily based claim. Travelers hereby unconditionally and unequivocally waive any and all claims and demands for all damages, losses, costs and expenses of any nature whatsoever (including attorney’s fees) on account of or arising out of any and all personal injury, death, bodily injury, mental anguish, emotional distress, property or other damage that I may suffer from any cause whatsoever related in any way to my participation in any Secret Supper-sponsored tour. Travelers further agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all decisions to cancel, modify or delay the tour as a result of events that are beyond the reasonable control of Secret Supper including such “acts of God” or force majeure events as actual or threats of: epidemics or pandemics, or other public health issues or emergencies (such as but not limited to the current COVID-19 pandemic); severe weather events or natural disasters such as but not limited to hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, fires, floods, volcanic activity, or landslides; war (whether declared or undeclared); terrorist activities; instability in a destination location; incidents of violence, riot, sabotage, civil commotion, or nationalization; strikes or labor disputes or lockouts; government orders, sanctions, actual or potential quarantines, or other restrictions affecting travel in, to, or around a location; disruption to transportation; chemical or radioactive contamination; or any other reason that makes it actually or potentially impossible or illegal for Secret Supper to conduct the tour as originally contracted.

Traveler Inconvenience and Risk

Travelers confirm they understand that travel can involve inconvenience and risk, including, but not limited to, sickness, diseases, forces of nature, geographic and climatic conditions, different hygienic standards, infrastructure problems (including road maintenance, transportation delays and accommodation condition), civil unrest, vandalism, crime, political instability and terrorism. Medical services or facilities may not be readily available or available at all during all or a portion of the tour and, if available, may not be equal to standards in their home location or home country. Travelers further understand that travel in other nations is not similar to travel in the United States and that different parts of the world present unique health, disease, and safety concerns.

Travelers agree to assume all risk of bodily injury, death, emotional trauma, property damage, inconvenience and/or loss resulting from negligence or any other acts of any and all persons or entities, however caused, including, but not limited to, those risks mentioned above. It is my intention fully to assume all of the risks of travel and participation in the program and to Secret Supper from any and all liabilities to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Activities Outside of Tour

Secret Supper shall have no responsibility for activities occurring outside of the designated tour activities.

Medical Treatment

Travelers understand and agree that if they become ill or incapacitated, Secret Supper and its employees or contractors may take any action they deem necessary for their safety and well-being, including securing medical treatment and transporting them home at their own expense. Secret Supper retains the right and has my authorization, in its sole discretion, to contact traveler emergency contact(s) with regard to health issues or any matter whatsoever that relates to their tour. In the event of a medical emergency, Secret Supper will attempt to cause appropriate treatment to be administered, and travelers authorize Secret Supper to do so. Secret Supper, however, makes no guarantee that it will be able to cause effective (or any) emergency treatment to be administered and Secret Supper will not be responsible for monitoring any health care that travelers may necessitate.

Additional Charges

Travelers understand that they will be required to pay for any phone calls or incidental personal expenses that they incur at hotels, as well as for any damage they cause to hotel rooms, buses or other property.

Media Disclaimer

Travelers understand and consent that Secret Supper may use any photographic, film, digital or video likeness taken of them, any of their comments while on the tour, any of their photographic, film, digital or video content shared by me with Secret Super through any form for future publicity or marketing without compensation to them.

Health & capabilities

The pacing and physical requirements of tour activities are variable. Certain tour activities require considerable walking and may pose difficulties for travelers with disabilities or impaired mobility. For example, many historic sites are only accessible on foot and involve stairs or inclines. Roads may be narrow and winding, often making it impossible for buses to drive up to your hotel. In addition, as the Americans with Disabilities Act does not apply abroad, service providers on international tours may not have the infrastructure to make special provisions or accommodate special equipment that may be required. For these reasons, Secret Supper encourages travelers to disclose any physical disabilities or limitations prior to reserving their tour so Secret Supper can help you determine the appropriateness based on the selected itinerary. Secret Supper is available to discuss any specific accommodations that disabled passengers might request and whether such requests can be reasonably arranged.
