Ruska

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK | OCTOBER 2018

Ruska, in Finnish, means autumn foliage or the time in which autumn foliage occurs. For anyone who has spent a fall on the East Coast, it is easy to reminisce on the beautiful golden colors, the smell of crisp leaves, and the taste of apple cider doughnuts. In late October, we traveled to New York and spent a glorious weekend hosting a Supper on the quaint Peconic River Herb Farm, in their perfectly vintage glass greenhouse, tucked away from the Nor’easter that hit Long Island that very day.

Our guests traveled from near and far, Toronto and Austin included. They braved the windy and rainy weather for a cozy evening savoring exquisite food, while the rain came down on the glass roof. Chef Jodi Moreno treated us to the most delicious autumn feast, full of local farm and sea treasures. It was such a magical, unforgettable evening! Thanks for having us, New York, we will be back so very soon!
